Arab weddings are usually conducted in expensive five start hotel ballrooms. They are, however, not like how weddings are in other parts of the world. Usually, two halls are booked for the day. Sometimes in the same hotel, sometimes at two totally different venues. There will be no women in the gent’s section and absolutely no men in the women’s section. The festivities and dancing happen in each section separately. The only entry of men is when the groom comes to the ladies’ section towards the end of the function along with the bride’s father and brothers(mahram) to escort the bride to their bridal chamber.
Cameras and mobile phones with cameras are not allowed into the hall if you’re going to be in the ladies’ section. Any mobiles with camera facility will have to be turned in at the entrance. It will be returned when you leave the venue.
